THE BRISTLES GROOMER TRAINING My name is Debby Knight and I decided to teach dog grooming after talking to former students that had been to very expensive grooming schools and were very disappointed. Many had felt they had not received enough individual attention and still did not feel confident to work on their own. Click here for a list of a few of my formers students and business names. I ONLY have ONE or TWO students at a time to ensure one to one tuition. I am a busy grooming parlour, believing in quality, professional grooming. I learnt to groom over 40 years ago and I am still passionate about what I do. I have been fortunate to groom both in the USA (Las Vegas) and in the UK. I invite you to look around my web site. I will teach you to groom your own dog, brush up on the basic grooming techniques, or set up and run your own business. I will also provide phone support after you finish my course. You will use my equipment, while you are learning, so don’t waste money on buying equipment you may not need. Try mine first. If you have any questions or queries before you sign up, for a course, please call me. Your training can be taken in stages or on a continuous basis. Classes are available Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays, where available. I am located on the beautiful border of England and Wales in Oswestry, Shropshire. There is good bed and breakfast accommodation available, plus takeaways, shops etc, all within 1 mile of the salon. COURSES:
PET OWNERS COURSE Basic grooming tips to help take care of your pet, To include trim, clip, strip, clean ears and clip nails. Bring your own pet. 1/2 day cost £95 1 day cost £140 Recommended for large breeds such as standard Poodles. Includes handouts and diploma.
INTRODUCTION TO DOG GROOMING Come and see how a salon works and find out if this is the career for you. 1/2 day cost £65 (Refundable on booking of 16 day course) Full day cost £125 (£65 refundable on booking of 16 day course)

Ideal for anyone looking for a job at a groomers or kennels or a first step into full time grooming. This is also excellent for the pet owner who wishes to perfect the preparation of your pet or show grooming.

Those wishing to take the Level 2 City & Guilds Dog Grooming Diploma
qualification you will also :-
1) Learn the C&G standard for Bathing and Grooming. 2) Complete seven practical assessments. 3) Complete your work book. 4) Complete the GOLA on-line assessment. At the end of the course your assessments will be sent off for verification. Once verified you will receive 3 certificates from City and Guilds.

The Bristles "So you want to be a Dog Groomer?" DVD can be ordered with all 1, 5 and 8 day courses and will be sent once payment has been made.
Comprehensive dog groomer's equipment kit is also available at a discounted price of £345.
A £100 non-refundable deposit is required on all 5, 8 and 16/20 day courses, when booked. An additional £125 non-refundable deposit is due if you will be taking the City and Guilds Level II with us (to cover registration fees). The balance is due on day of commencement of your course. Full fees for all 1/2 and 1 day courses are due when booked and are non refundable. For all courses, you need to bring are comfortable shoes and an overall. Courses include drinks (tea, coffee, soft drinks and squash). For full day courses, please bring a packed lunch. There are numerous books and magazines on grooming and dogs available for students to read. I also have 25 Grooming DVD's of demonstrations by Melissa VerPlank, author of 'Notes From The Grooming Table' on various subjects for students to watch (permission to use them for educational purposes obtained from Paragon Grooming School) |
